IWA MULTY Fabric conditioner imparts durable soil release and anti- soil redeposition properties to 100% polyester under a variety of application conditions. It may be applied before, during, or after dyeing. it can be used with disperse and cationic dyes, or combinations thereof. The recommended level of application is 1 – 4 % owf. |
Remarkably improved moisture transport (water drop absorption and wicking) is obtained with fabric treated with IWA MULTY. |
In summary, finishing polyester fabrics with IWA MULTY improves : |
1. |
Initial antistat |
2. |
Soil release . |
3. |
Anti – soil redeposition |
4. |
Water drop absorption |
5 .
6.
|
Wicking
Non-yellowing of whites over prolonged use.
|
Thus IWA MULTY enhances the wearbility and case of care career apparel and active sportswear. Treated curtains and underwear stay white wash after wash. Over-the-counter home sewing yard goods finished with IWA MULTY offer easy oily soil release, reduced redeposition, and greater ease of sewing. |

APPLICATIONS : |
1. The standard kinds of dyeing equipment can be used to apply IWA MULTY jets, becks, beams , jigs, package machines and paddle manchies have been used successfully. |
2. For maximum performance 4% is recommended. |
3. IWA MULTY can be applied with only acetic acid in the bath to control pH.A more durable finish is obtained with carriers on greige goods or with dyes on colored fabrics. |
4. IWA MULTY is compatible with all common dispersing agents, retarders, carriers, and leveling agents. It is not affected by the more widely used acids bases, and buffers used for pH control in the range pH 3 to 9. It is compatible with disperse and cationic dyes under their usual conditions of use. |
5. IWA MULTY can be applied : Before dyeing, During dyeing, During scouring, or On previously dyed yarn or fabrics.
(1) Temperature – 65 to 130° C
(2) Ph - 3 to 9
(3) Time – 15 minutes to 3 hours.
The following is one of many typical procedures that can be used. In general, IWA MULTY can be used in your current dyeing formulation and procedures without cycle time extending changes. The conditions under which high quality dyeings are obtained are more demanding than these required for the application of IWA MULTY and are therefore the limiting factore. However, IWA MULTY should not be exposed to conditions of high heat, 65° C or higher, At ph’s below 3. Under these conditions, especially with no addes dispersants or dye present, the IWA MULTY may coagulate. |
TYPICAL COAPPLICATION TO DRACON POLYSTER IN JET DYER : |
1. Scour and rinse |
2. Set the bath at 40 – 55° C |
3. Add IWA MULTY 1 - 4% owf |
4. Run five minutes. |
5. Add dispersants and / or carriers and other dye bath components. |
6. Run five minutes. |
7. Add disperse dyes. |
8. Run five minutes. |
9. Add acetic acid to ph 4 to 5. |
10. Raise to 130° C at 1 to 2 C / minute. |
11. Run 40 minutes. |
12. Cool to 80° C at 1 to 3 C / MINUTE. |
13. Drop the bath. |
14. Overflow rinse with water at 60 – 70° C For 10 minutes. |
15. Overflow rinse with water at 25 – 35°C for 10 minutes. |
16. Drop the bath. |
17. Pull fabrics. |
18. Dry & heat set under the conditions recommended for fabrics. (heat satting is not necessary for “curing” IWA MULTY, nor does it impair its performance.) |
The IWA MULTY can be added before other dye bath components, along with them, or after. But , following good dyeing practice, it should be diluted 10 times with 25 – 35° C water before being added. |
